Is Non-reactive TPHA Test Result Indicative Of The Non-existence Of Syphilis During Pregnancy?
Dear Doctor, Good evening. Im 7 weeks pregnant and went to antental clinic for check up. I was tested reactive for VDRL and to confirm the result my Gyn advice to take TPHA test. My TPHA test result is Non-reactive (Thank you.
TPHA test is highly sensitive test & false negative test is very rare. Hence, if the test has been performed correctly, you may consider yourself as negative for syphilis.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
