Sir I had a small hole in my left year few years back. But did not get it operated.Usually I avoid water inside my ear.Two days back I got few drops of water inside my ear, and now it is paining feeling something wet inside my ear.It looks like I have got an ear infection.Usually in this situation I use Neosporin, but it is not available now.Can I Use Otocin O

Recurrent infection of ear following upper respiratory tract infection,accidental water entry is common after chronic perforation(hole) in eardrum.Definitive treatment of this condition is surgical closures of hole with fascia.Otocin o contains combination of antibiotic, antifungal and steroid drops.You can instill the drops 3 times a day for 7 days and keep the ear dry.If no relief consult an ent for expert management.
