Hi,Can Otrinoz(Xylometazoline Hydrochloride & Sorbitol Nasal Drops) be used as ear drops? As I have some sort of liquid occupied in the middle ear due to suffering from cold for a long time, doctor advised me the nasal drops. Are these to be put into nose or ear?
Hi. The Otrinoz (Xylometazoline Hydrochloride & Sorbitol ) nasal drops are to be instilled / put into the nose in lying down position, touching the septum or lateral wall. Instill 3 to 4 drops followed by plain water steam inhalations. This will help in opening the Eustachian tubes connecting the nose to the middle ears, thereby allowing the aeration and reabsorption of the fluid from the middle ear.
IT is not to be put into the ear at all.
