Is Plan-B Advisable While On Visanne As A Safe Contraceptive Option?

Hi there, I have Hashimoto s and thyroid is underactive and I am on Euthyrox 50ug. I am also on Visanne for endometriosis. My gynae has said that Visanne is not registered as a contraceptive and that my husband and I should take extra precaution. However, we do, but as life happens the condom broke. I want to get the morning after pill however I am not sure about the interaction with my meds as well as the effect it could have on my thyroid. Please assist ...

Hi,

Emergency contraceptive pills does not react with Visanne, it does not depend on your thyroid status either. Nothing to worry and it won’t result in contraceptive failure.
