Is Prednisone/Revlimid Treatment A Good Replacement For Procrit?
I m MF patient and was right now on Procrit injections 2/wk and Jakafi once every other day. I went thru multiple blood transfusions. I have also severe anemia. My Dr. suggested to try Prednisone/Revlimid treatment. Please advise if this is good replacement for procrit? ZD.
dear patient.according to me your doctor advised correctly to shift to prednisone/revlimid treatment because of following reasons. 1.first of all it has fewer side effects than your current treatment. 2.recent research has indicated significant increase in wbcs and platelet counts.improvement in immunity and healing. 3.improvement in anemia. 4.decrease in size of spleen which is the good indicator for outcome of MF 5.plus i would also recommend to continue procrit injections. hope i have helped you in your question. take care.
