Is Primolut N Helpful In Regularizing Periods And In Conceiving?

Hi, i have been having irregular menstruation, which was the reason i started taking Primolut N. When i complained my case to a pharmacist about my inability of menstruating for more than 15 days, i was introduced to this drug. How can it help me balance my irregularities and result to making me pregnant?

Thanks for posting in HCM.
Primolut N is composed of 'Norethisterone'. It is used for the treatment of various menstrual disorders like Dysfunctional uterine bleeding, Premenstrual syndrome, Endometriosis Menorrhagia and Dysmenorrhoea. The medication also has been used to postpone the periods.
The usual dose prescribed for irregular menstruation or excessive bleeding is 1 tablet 3 times daily for 10 days. Bleeding will get arrested usually within 1-3 days. A withdrawal bleeding resembling normal menstruation occurs within 2-4 days after discontinuing treatment. One tablet twice daily from the 19th to the 26th day of the two subsequent cycles should be taken to prevent recurrence.
Subsequently, the cycles should be back to normal. Once the cycles are normal, there are high chances of ovulation taking place at right time (around 13th day of the cycle). Provided other factors are normal, if the timing of intercourse is right, it should improve the chances of conceiving.
In case irregular menstruation is due to some other cause like polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD), it needs further evaluation and management accordingly.
