Is Pristiq 100mg Advisable For Depression?

I have been put on Prestiq for depression and I was on Lexapro p rior! I ve read that Prestiq and Effecsor are the same drug which I was on for 9 years! This makes no sense to me! Depression is no better and Im so down all the time! Been on Pretiq about 2 months at 100mg.tabs,
