Is Prolia Shot Advisable To Treat Fractures Caused Due To Injury?

I am 84 years old and have had serious fractures from falls. I am supposed to have an injection of Prolia at my doctor's office next week. After reading the possible side effects, I am beginning to think I would prefer to take my chances with having another bad fall. I am allergic to aspirin and Nsaids as they cause symptoms of anaphylaxis.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Based on your history and considering your age, it would be advisable for you to go for Prolia.
Prolia contains 'denosumab', which is a human monoclonal antibody used in the treatment of osteoporosis, treatment-induced bone loss, metastases to bone and giant cell tumor of bone. Since denosumab is contraindicated in people with low blood calcium levels, kindly check your serum calcium levels before taking the injection.
Hope the information provided helps.
All the best and wish you good health.
