Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I will keep a possibility of candidal balanoposthitis as the cause of itching, redness and swelling thereby causing difficulty in retracting the prepuce.
The infection is easily transmitted sexually, therefore it is quite normal for the sexual partner to have similar symptoms; itching and also vaginal discharge.
Candidal or yeast infections though is not considered to be an STD.
If I was the treating doctor I would have probably advised a single oral dose of Fluconazole to both the partners. This is usually curative.
Topically you may use an OTC topical antifungal e.g clotrimazole 1% cream and your partner may use OTC clotrimazole vaginal tablets once daily for 7 days.
An OTC oral antihistanine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily will provide symptomatic relief from itching and can be taken if itching is bothersome.
