I AM 52 YRS OLD - MALE , HAVING DIABETES, BP, THYROID AND OBESE ALSO. MY BMI IS 36 + DOCTOR ADVISED A THOROUGH CHECK- UP RELATED TO HEART AND ACCORDINGLY ADVISED TO UNDERGO TMT -MOD BRUE , ECG, LIPID PROFILE, ECHO ETC.. ETC.. THIS IS ONLY A ROUTINE ONE . IS IT ADVISABLE TO UNDERGO TMT - STRESS TEST SINCE IAM OVERWEIGHT AND FOLLOWING A SEDANTRY LIFE WITHOUT ANY EXERCISES... PLS ADVISE

Hello,

I understand your concern and would agree with you that being overweight and lack of regular physical activity may impose you to some limitations in TMT stress test.

For this reason, I would recommend performing a Dobutamine stress echo instead, which can help investigate for coronary artery disease and there is no need for physical exercise.

Another option would be a coronary angio CT scan.
