Is Tegretol And TARO Same Medicine With Different Brand Name?

I take Tegretol 200 mg Tablets. On getting my refill, they gave me a pill with the words TARO and the # 11 stamped into the pill. They said it was Carbamazepine 200 mg Tab.. I m wondering if these are a Generic Brand.. As I can only take the Name Brand: TEGRETOL..

hi,
Both are same with different brand names.
As it is an antiepileptic drug, changing the brand from the routine is not recommended even with same drug as minute differences in the manufacturing method, bioavailability and quality will effect your seizure control and can lead to adverse effects.
if possible, ask for the same brand you are using. ALL THE BEST.
