your white blood cell count is not normal. It's fluctuating between normal and abnormal neutrophil counts (absolute numbers) probably reflecting bone marrow insufficiency. Age is not a reason for low blood counts. Other causes should be sought. Possible causes include drugs, infections, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), etc. Please also keep in mind that some individuals have counts lower than normal without any problem for their health. If you've always had the same values then this could be your case. If you've had higher values in the past then something else is the matter.
