Hello,

your white blood cell count is not normal. It's fluctuating between normal and abnormal neutrophil counts (absolute numbers) probably reflecting bone marrow insufficiency. Age is not a reason for low blood counts. Other causes should be sought.
Possible causes include drugs, infections, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), etc.
Please also keep in mind that some individuals have counts lower than normal without any problem for their health. If you've always had the same values then this could be your case. If you've had higher values in the past then something else is the matter.
Your neutrophils are not so low to affect your immune defences but they can get lower with time depending on the cause.
Your doctor should try to identify the cause of your low values.
I hope I've helped!
If you need further assistance with your condition, please let me know. I'll be glad to help more.

Kind Regards!
