Is A D&C Test Necessary To Detect Abnormal Uterine Lining?

I'm 56 years old. My periods stopped 5 years ago. After getting the results of my Pervilc and Transvaginal tests my OB/GYN dr insists on performing D&C test, since both of the tests shows lining abnormality (7mm) with known normal 4-5 mm. He took a biopsy of cervic in his office and it didn't show any abnormality. I don't experience any bleeding in the last 5 years. Should I go through D&C test or not?
