Is A Depo Provera Shot Effective Immediately After Its Intake?
Hi there I took the depo provera shot on Wednesday this month and I was not on my period. My doctor said it is effective immediately but after reading online it said to wait 7 days so I am looking for a second opinion. When is the shot effective? Thank you Kathy

If injection Depo Provera is taken within 5 days of your periods, it starts acting immediately. If you have taken it in the middle of your period, use protection for 15 days.
