Is A Colonoscopy Risky If The Colon Is Too Inflamed?

I m supposed to have a colonoscopy soon to determine if my small cell cancer (which was removed through surgery in March from my liver) is now in my colon, or if the colon is still inflamed from the immunotherapy drug Yervoy I had received until June 30, 2017, is still causing the suspicious activity in my colon. I had a PETCT scan Aug. 1; radiologist recommended colonoscopy, but oncologist said my intestines were too inflamed. I ve been taking 10mg of prednisone for the inflammation. What would the risks be to have a colonoscopy if the colon is too inflamed. The surgeon is concerned because the cancer he removed in March is a rare, very aggressive kind.
