I have a spot on my arm that looks like the pics of late stage melanoma. Dark irregular but not raised. I don t think it was there 2 weeks ago.Im 63 had a mellow removed 6 years ago. Ive had numerous pre-cancerous moles and basal cells removed during this time as well. How fast can these cancerous spots form?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history of dark spots on arm, my treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a kojic acid cream like kojivit twice daily on the affected skin. 3. Take an NSAID (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like ibuprofen for pain and swelling. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil, and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
