Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
During my CT scan to day that involved dye, the saline precursor went into my skin and created a lump. Is this dangerous? it has gone down some but it has been 5 hours and it is still there plus the injection site is still covered with a tight bandage
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your mentioned history suggestive of hematoma formation or swelling because of misplaced needle from vein. You can apply ice over affected area. If thrombophlebitis is associated, than Thrombophob gel can be applied over that. You can discuss these with your treating doctor.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
