Is A Mildy Dilated Appendix Without Periappendiceal Inflammatory Changes A Cause For Concern?
Good day! My question is...I recently had a C-scan because of artery problems in my leg. The results came back explaining those problems. There was also a problem(?) with my appendix. There was mildly dilated appendix without periappendiceal inflammatory changes or definitive wall thickening. Could you break this down in English for me? thanks Bill Yandle

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
welcome to hcm ...your appendix is dilated but there is no inflammation or swelling surrounding appendix and appendix wall is not thickened i think the appendix is not inflammed and you must not be having repeated episodes of pain in right lower side of abdomen if you have repeated episodes of pain plus fever and loss of appetite i would recommend detailed examination regarding TLC DLC ESR and blood sugar level and urine to exclude or make diagnosis of appendicitis by the above given query it is not appendicitis with regards dr varinder joshi
