Is A Negative Pregnancy Test After Using An Emergency Contraceptive Pill Sufficient Proof That Pregnancy Is Avoided?
Hi i had sex on 26 of sep My last period was 6 sep I took ipill just after 2 hrs of sex It was a protected sex using condom Still i didnt get my period it is 11 october today I did a pregnancy test today and it came out negative. Should i worry abt pregnancy
You shouldn't worry about pregnancy. Ipill has high efficacy rate if taken within 72 hours of sex and the medicine is not vomited out. Hormonal imbalance is a side effect of I-pill so you may get irregular periods, spotting, missed periods or heavy bleeding at times. Your periods will get normal after 2-3 cycles when the body adjusts with the hormonal level of the body. You are advised to take home made nutritious food to avoid anemia. Get tested for thyroid, PCOS, Hb%, etc. If any underlying pathology is diagnosed, you will be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
