Is A Persistent Pain In Groin Area Due To Tear?

Hi my name is Joey I am 50 years old. Back in March of 2012 I got up quickly from the couch and I felt a sudden pain in my groin area. I thought I may have pulled a groin muscle. I thought it would heal on its own, but it still hasn't. Its been 9 months since that happened. I haven't seen a doctor. I have been very fortunate all my life with my health. I don't even have a family Doctor, I never go to the Doctor. I am starting to get worried because I thought this would have healed by now. Could this be a tear in the groin? Please tell me what I can do to help me heal this.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The persistent pain in the groin could be due to a labral tear, a mild hairline fracture due to an injury, a nerve root compression, muscle spasm, etc. The cause needs to be ascertained after investigations.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
