Is A Posterior Pharyngeal Abscess A Matter Of Medical Emergency?
My mom just told me she saw a doctor at an Urgent Care who told her to go to the emergency room to get evaluated for a posterior pharyngeal abcess. Please advise is this an emergency that could result in something serious or can she self care to try to resolve. I am worried as I have never heard of this and don't know what to do. Thank you!
Posterior pharyngeal abscess is nothing but a collection of pus behind your throat. It has to be drained to prevent unwanted complications. Consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.
