Is Accurate Safe To Use During Pregnancy?

Hi doctor,im 27 and planinig for a baby after 4 months.i have pimple problem sience im 16. I had used accutrate 20 before 3years it realy worked good on me. i also used dox and other medicine which have side effect on me.i also went for leser pixel treatment which made my skin uneven and dark and lots of patches. now i have pimples with marks so is it safe for me to use accutrate as im planning for a baby after 4 or 6 month.plz help me.

Hi,

Accutane contains Vitamin A.
There is a very high risk that severe birth defects will occur if pregnancy occurs while using Accutane. It can cause abnormalities in face, eyes, ears, skull, heart, central nervous system, thymus and thyroid gland. It can also result in IQ less than 85. There is also an increased risk of miscarraige, preterm birth and fetal death.
Therefore if you wish to use Accutane now, you must use double contraception to make sure that you don't conceive while on Accutane. Stop accutane at least a month before you plan for conception.
