Hello sir,I myself m a doctor .i was diagnosed with genital herpes 3 yrs back for which I was prescribed acyclovir ointment and ofloxacin ornidazole tab following which I was relieved.sir I had no history of sexual exposure.for the last 3 yrs I had no complaints till last 2 weeks I feel that I had a recurrence for which I took the same medication.i m a bit relieved but my veins over the foreskin seem congested and reddened.how will it subside.
Hi, Welcome to HCM. You had not mentioned your age and whether you are a diabetic or not. This redness over foreskin could be due to something else other than Genital Herpes. For example, yeast infection or irritation due to soaps or some applications. Confirm the same by presenting yourself to a Dermato-venereologist. If it is due Herpes then you can take Acyclovir tablets by oral route as per your physician's guidance rather than as a topical application. Wish you a speedy recovery. Dr S.Murugan
