Hello,

It's not advisable to consume while on antidepressant medications Duloxetine and Buspirone. When consumed while taking Buspirone, alcohol may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating, impaired thinking judgment, and motor coordination which may result in falls and injuries. He should avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving, swimming or operating hazardous machinery.

Consuming alcohol while on Duloxetine may increase that risk of liver damage. He should consult his doctor immediately if he develops fever, chills, joint pain or swelling, excessive tiredness or weakness, unusual bleeding or bruising, skin rash or itching, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, dark colored urine, or yellowing of the skin or the whites of your eyes, as these may be symptoms of liver damage.

He should avoid the use of alcohol while being treated with Duloxetine and Buspirone. In addition taking Duloxetine together with Duloxetine can increase the risk of a rare, but serious condition called the serotonin syndrome which is characterized by symptoms such as confusion, hallucination, seizures, increased blood pressure, and heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering or shaking, blurred vision, muscle stiffness, tremor, stomach cramp, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In its severe form, it may result in coma and even death.
