My pain doctor may prescribe Lyrica for non-diabetic neuropathy in my feet. Neurontin and injections have been unsuccessful. Question: I have 2 to three drinks (alcohol) per week. Will I have to stop drinking altogether if I start taking Lyrica. This would be a real bummer. Thanks-Dan
OHHHhhhh... 2-3 drinks a week and not more than one a day.... There is a sedative effect of lyrica that adds up with other sedatives. If the other sedatives are a lot (and I had a patient die from one drink.... admittedly a pint of moonshine and more than 5 times the legal limit of alcohol) then they can be dangerous. BUT one drink and lyrica isn't a risk
As long as it isn't a pint of moonshine.
