Is Alprex Tablet A Good Alternate For Zolfresh?

Sir,my dad is chronic patient of depression,he is 80 yrd old n takes zolfresh 10 mg one tab at abt 11 pm n then half of same at abt 3 at night.even then he cant sleep,last week the doc prescribed alprax .25 mg n he could sleep properly,can we give him alprex .25 mg ,is it so strong that it can replace zolfresh 10 mg

Hi! Zolfresh and Alprax belong to two different classes of drugs. Your father has,over time, developed tolerance to Zolfresh. Therefore he is unable to sleep even with increased doses of this drug. On the other hand Alprax, which belongs to different category of drugs, is effective, even in such low doses (0.25 mg) in
inducing sleep. You can use Alprax but under medical supervision as this drug too
leads to tolerance and the body starts requiring higher doses. All the best!
