Is An HIV Combo Test With P24 Antigen Screening After 34 Days Since Exposure Conclusive?
I had a protective insertive vaginal sex with CSW i wear a condom. But even i am worried i did rapid hiv mylan test for me and for her it was negative after 34 days. Also i did hiv combo test with p24 antigen screening after 34 days for me also it was negative. I’ am an obsessed person. Do i still need to be worried ? Or do further tests ? Are my tests conclusive ?
HIV combo test is very precise test, which can detect presence of HIV infection at an early stage. It detects antibodies against both HIV 1 and 2 as well as presence of HIV 1-p24 antigen. It can detect infection as early as in 2 weeks, in some of the cases. However, in other cases, the test may be positive only after a longer period up to 45 days. As there is longer window period, in some of the cases, therefore a negative test at least after 45 days of suspected infection should be considered as negative reliably.
