Is An Infant Born With Persistent Cough Likely To Have A Lung Disease?

My 21 month old grandson has a cough and has had it off and on since birth. He has been to a Specialist and they have put him on 2 different puffers - one he takes twice a day and has for 3 to 4 months and the other he just was given today - has to take 4 times a day. If this newest puffer does not clear this up what would be a possible next step - lung diesease was mentioned and this is concerning to me

Hi,
One has to clinically assess the child whether it is wheeing that is causing the cough or thee is any other illnesses.

He may also need some tests to confirm like xray ,ct chest, echo etc.

Keep followup with a good pediatrician and he can decide.

Good luck
