Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I went for a CT scan with contrast on Friday and was told my appendix looked slightly inflamed, when my doctor called with the results, I was advised that its no big deal and just go straight to the ER if the pain worsens or vomiting occurs. Does this seem normal? Today the pain has intensified and I am extremely nausea, however have not thrown up.
You can be prescribed oral antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medication course for five days. If your symptoms doesn't improve and condition worsen with fever and vomiting then appendectomy operation might needed. Just now no need of operation. Only clinical observation is needed. You can consult general surgeon for examination.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
