Is Angiogram Required To Diagnose Coronary Artery Disease?
Sir: I am past 60 who is on atenlol, statin & anticoagulants as advised by a cardiologist. I do not have any symptoms. I am advised to have an angiogram at a convenient time. I donot want to do that . What if I continue with the medicines and frequent check up , investigations etc ?
Cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography (CAG) provides a detailed hemodynamic and anatomic assessment of the heart and coronary arteries. If you are apprehensive of conventional CAG, you can opt for Coronary CT angiography in place of invasive coronary catheterization.
