Is Anteroseptal Infarction In An EKG Test A Cause For Concern?
A newly diagnosed diabetic 53 yr old female. First abnormal ekg. Sinus rhythm old anteroseptal infarction. How concerned should I be. No history of heart disease. There, being a diabetic predisposes you to atherosclerotic heart disease. And to add to this, diabetics are more likely to have no symptoms or even have atypical symptoms of heart disease due to diabetic neuropathy.
The ECG finding of anteroseptal wall ischemia proves that a blood vessel in the heart had been having low levels of oxygen most likely due to cholesterol build up in its walls.
Also having high cholesterol levels adds up to the risk of heart disease. Therefore all of your risk factors should be controlled in order to have an optimal heart health.
Proper control of blood sugar and cholesterol is paramount, and heart medications should be taken in order to prevent a heart attack.
And I would recommend a consult with a Doctor or a specialist for proper treatment.
