Hello,

Yes, chlamydia can be treated with antibiotics. The most common are azithromycin and doxycycline. Chlamydia should be treated quickly to avoid complication. Please note that Your sexual partner should be treated as well because chlamydia is sexually transmitted disease(STD).

Many STDs do not have symptoms. If symptoms do appear, they can include:
pain in the lower abdomen,
pain during urination,
pain or bleeding during sex,
discharge from the penis or vagina,
pain in the testicles (men).

If chlamydia is untreated, it can cause pelvic inflammatory disease which can lead to infertility, miscarriage and during pregnancy can cause eye infections and pneumonia in newborns.

You can prevent sexual transmitted disease (STD) by:
using a condom,
limiting the amount of new sexual partners.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
