Is Appendix Removal The Right Method Of Treatment For Severe Stomach Ache?
Hello, My boyfriend just had a terrible stomach ache. He went to the doctor and the doctor said he might need to get his appendix removed. He is right now having a scan. What are the possibilities that the doctor diagnosed correctly without a scan? Thanks, Sofía
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about appendix removal.
Apendicitis is a disease which can be clinically diagnosed. It has a clinical method with proper criteria. If it is found to satisfy the criteria is matching with your patient it can be said the patient has Apendicitis.
But as you said the scan is normal without any much inflammation there is no need to go for it. Because it is an acute fetal infection needs immediate surgery.
If your patient has migratory pain from abdomen to right groin, shifting tenderness, fever, leukocytosis, fever then there are high chances of Apendicitis.
Hope my answer will help you and visit in case you have any other medical query.
