Is Application Of Vicks Vaporub On A Fever Blister Harmful?
I put Vicks VapoRub on a fever blister on my bottom lip. I did not realize the hazards of using it on my mouth until I read the tiny print warning against it. I immediately washed my lips and inside my mouth with soap and water and rinsed it thoroughly. Is there still a risk?

As per your case history, you have irritant dermatitis on the lip, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID like ibuprofen for 5-7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil, and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
