Is Azoran A Right Medicine For Dissolving Blood Clots In Brain?
hie i am 40 yr old wife and suffering from MS n had minor blood clots in my brain n my doctor suggested me to take azoran medicine .... is it the right medicine beacuse even after having this medicine i have been facing alot of problem .... pls help me i need ur help !! thanku
Azathioprine (azoran) technically is not used to dissolve blood clots. Actually there is no drug to dissolve a blood clot after the first 3-6 hours it has formed and I suppose that time frame has passed by now. Improvement is expected more thanks to unaffected areas compensating for the damaged ones rather than healing drugs. What we as doctors try to do is prevent further blood clots from forming. In order to do that is necessary to find out first what is the reason behind that, which is often difficult and necessitates extensive testing. So from the data you have provided it is difficult to know what your doctors think is behind your problems. Usually Azoran (which suppresses your immune system) is used when the cause is some autoimmune disease (your immune system damaging your own body) but since I don't know how (if) they reached to that conclusion I can't asses if its use is correct and how indispensable it is. If it's causing side effects (it is true that it is associated with a lot of side effects) you should discuss it with your doctor, actually even if you had no visible side effects patients taking this drug need regular check-ups.
