Is Ballon Catherization Safe Remedy For Rheumatic Heart Disease?
Hi, My wife, 32 has been detected to be having Rheumatic Heart Disease with MV = 1.3. currently she started Penidure 12 and starpress x 50. Doctor here suggests on ballon catherization. would you please let me know how safe it is ? and once done, would it improve the MV to a higher side and how frequently should we be doing this subsequently. Balloon catheterisation (PBMV) is quite safe the prognosis again depends on the condition of the patient, left ventricular function, added mitral regurgitation(+ or _) & procedure perfection.
you have to go for frequent check up with the cardiologist, depending upon the post procedure status. all the best take care

hi RHD (RHEUMATIC HEART DISEASE) with MITRAL STENOSIS the treatment of choice is either medical management PBMV :percutaneous balloon mitral valvuloplasty. or WITH SURGICAL PROCEDURE LIKE MITRAL VALVE REPLACEMENT.
