Is Being AFB Positive Due To Cavitory Lesion In Right Lung Serious?

I am diagnosed AFB positive due to a cavitory lesion in my right lung on 5th January'10 and am on Forecox tablets two tablets in the morning, and a pyricontin in the afternoon. I have gained 1 kg till date in weight. My cough and sputum have stopped now. I am 60 yr old housewife. I am also asthmatic and on Asthalin inhaler. Am I to continue the isolation even now. Can I have normal conjugal life with my husband? Pl advise me also whether I can attend to normal domestic chores as before. I will be very grateful if u can advise me soon. Thanking u.

I can understand your concern.
Yes, you can definitely live normal life.
You are having sputum positive TB.
Normal duration for sputum conversion (negative report) 15-20 days.
So after 20 days, you are non infectious and hence you can spend time with your husband and family without worrying about spreading infection.
You are have also improved in fever and coughing. This also favor improvement.
So no need to worry much.
Enjoy your daily normal life.
Just finish 6-8 months of treatment.
