Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 21 year old female, and believe i have bradycardia, as I have a resting pulse of 35 - 40ish. I am curious as to whether this may be as a result of the vigorous cardio training regime i maintain, or as a result of being underweight (height: 167cm, weight: 46kg). Should I be worried about this, or is it a sign of fitness?
hello,I have gone through your query. Thanks for using HCM. Basically trained athlets have low pulse rate. This is normal for them and good sign.So in your case vigorous cardio regime is mostly cause of bradycardia and yes it is sign of f itness of your heart. However you should get ECG once as a matter of check up and to rule out and remote possibility of bradyarrhythmia. Underweight is not related to pulse rate. My best wishes Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD
