Is Brown Discharge During Periods After Having Unprotected Sex Concerning?

Hi, I ve been on birth control for a year now. I ve missed a few but i d always take it the next day or double up. I had sex about two weeks ago & we used condoms but he said some sperm may have came out the top. Ive been having brown discharge instead of blood on my period. What s going on?
