Is Bruises During Pregnancy Normal?

Hello I'm 7 months pregnant and I just noticed two little bruises on my stomach. Then I took a shower and the one went away instantly. Is this normal? Then also it looks like my belly button is bruised as well, but there is no pain with either of these.

Hello
Welcome to HCM
I understand your concern.Bruises during pregnancy is very common in some women. It may be due to low platelet count caused simply by being pregnant.

So,i would advice you to check your platelet count once to rule out HELLP syndrome. Platelets help blood to clot, and clotting is important both in anesthesia (for labor) and in surgery, such as a c-section.

Hope you are happy with the answer.

Thank you
