Is Cardiomyopathy With AF And CCF Symptoms Of Hyperthyroidism?

Hi, This is for my mother aged 48 Years, Since last 3 years she was taking medicine for Hyperthyroidism, ( Neo Mercazole (10) * 3 times a day, Now after a thyroid scan we recieved result (The TPR has been calculated to be 6.8 (Normal up to 2.5) which is suggestive of hyper function and advised for Radio Iodine Therapy which was we have dosed to her 3 Days before. What i would like to ask is CARDIOMYOPATHY with AF , CCF is a symptoms of Hyperthyroidism.?? Now what she is undergoing these days...Please advice

Yes cardiomyopathy AF CCF are complications of uncontrolled Hyperthyroidism for long duration.
Because of hyperthyroidism the metabolic rate of body increase and heart rate increases. Because of high metabolic rate and high heart rate blood circulates much faster and this puts extra pressure on heart and results in CCF.
Iodine ablation is a procedure where the functionality of the thyroid gland is destroyed so that thyroid gland is made inactive and the thyroid hormones are given as oral supplement.
