Cataract means opacifiaction of your clear crystalline lens... Its normal aging phenomenon just like greying of hairs with age... Each & every individual including me will have cataract one day... So nothing to worry about it... Its not dreadful condition... It can be easily treated by simple surgery followed by lens insertion... But ya what s worse in your case is glaucoma... Which is hereditary... N since your brother too diagnosed with same I suggest you to get glaucoma work up done... Sometimes if cataract is more dense then glaucoma work up may not be possible properly. In that case you need to get operated... Glaucoma won t have any effect on cataract surgery so you can get operated without any tension... N then get glaucoma work up done... But don t neglect it...
