Is Cellcept Less Effective When Taken With Food Or Is It Due To GI Problems Causing Severe Pain?
Hi, yes. I started cellcept 500 mg bid x 5d on March 10th, increased to 1000mg bid 5 days later. I am having a hard time with taking it 1 our before food or 2 hours after as I have IDDM, hypothyroidism, and newly dx Myasthenia Gravis (lucky me). My question is is cellcept less effective if taken with food or is it because of GI side effects if taken with food? I sometimes feel a spasm in ABD region 15-20 min after taking pills and can palpate a tightening knot spasm for 15-30 seconds, no severe pain. I went from 125# to 115# with lack of apetite. Obviously I need food and insulin and am trying to incorporate cellcept, just looking for advice.
Hello dear Welcome to Health care magic family . I have evaluated your query in depth .
@ Cellcept is less effective when taken with food because its uptake and absorption is hampered in that pH environment of the stomach . @ Abdominal cramps are obviously due to GI side effects .
Hope this will help you . Feel free to ask any further questions . Thanks for evaluating my answer . Regards .
