Is Changing Colour With Pain Of Remnant Surgical Scars Normal?

HI im a 20 year old female. I was hit by a car when i was 9. Broke my fib tib. it left 2 scars on the inside of my right ankle (where the fib tib broke out of the skin) almost 12 years later.. one of the scars are turning a blueish purple colour, and slight pain. Why is it changing colour and is this harmful?
