Is Chest Pain A Matter Of Concern While Suffering From Fluctuating Blood Pressure Levels?

a week ago went into hospital with chest pain and elevating blood pressure (started at 125/72 and went to 190/98 in matter of hours). got cath on monday and found that 2 vessels were 40% blocked, thus no stints). was already taking losartan 50 mg once daily and xarelto 20mg once daily for dvt behind right knee from post op lumbar sugery. bp had been well controlled for 2 years prior. released tues after roller coaster bp readings stabilized somewhat. stayed on current meds and added metoprolol tartrate 25mg every 12 hrs and one baby aspirin daily. ever since then have had up and down unstable bp (as low as 90/60 & as high as 140/83) with pulse averaging 50-55. experiencing constant moderate chest pain. woke up at 2am with tingling limbs with 142/74 bp & 42 PULSE...that concerned me...after 2 hrs back to 121/77 and 52 pulse rate. called anws svc for cardiologist yesterday to discuss meds, etc but got no response......should I concerned ??

Hi,

Your fluctuating blood pressure is almost within normal limits and not really important at the moment. But as you have had coronary artery disease, you should give more emphasis on your chest pain. You should consult your doctor for adding nitrates and statin to your medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
