Is Combination Of Salt And Sugar In A Quart Of Water Recommended For Dehydration?

Hi Doctor Grief, My wife has been dehydraded (in hospital and fixed) but now in recovery we are on the electrolyte drinks (like Oral Electrolyte from Walgreens) but I see homemade formula of salt and sugar in a quart of water. If I am precise with measurements, can we rely on this?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your wife having dehydration that you got treated in hospital.
The homemade mixture with salt and water is allowed only if the ready made Oral electrolytes are not available.
These products supply many of the ingredients that the home made will lack.
Hence continue with the Ready made formulations.
