Is Continued Therapy Advisable For Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo Which Is Leading To Anxiety?

I have BPPV and it has been a week with multiple therapy treatments to correct the situation. THis is the longest incident to date and not the most severe. Do I continue to go for therapy & do the positions at home as well.?? very unsettling, I am very active and this is anxiety producing.

Hello,

Indeed, BPPV (Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo) is very frustrating situation. Yes, you should continue with therapy (usually anti-histamines are recommended including betahistine) and do the positions at home.

Resting and avoiding body movements are the best choice. You should wait a little more until fully improvement although you declare to be a very active person.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini
