Is Cramping And Sore Nipples A Sign Of Pregnancy?

I have been on birth control for the past 7 years and have taken it religiously. I stopped taking it on March 21st, 2011 and started taking a pre-natal vitamin. I am due for my period tomorrow (Apr. 20th). I have been having some cramping and sore nipples since April 11th and I have also broken out on my neck which was rare for me even before starting birth control. My last menstral cycle started on March 23rd. Is there a possibility that the symptoms I am having could be early pregnancy signs or side effects from stoppping BC and/or starting a pre-natal? My husband and I have been TTC this month.

Hi there, I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1. First of all do not panic.

2 . At the outset , let me assure you that your symptoms are surely not due to stopping of birth control pills or starting the prenatal vitamins.

3. I will suggest you to wait for your expected date of the cycle. If you happen to cross your dates, then please get morning's first sample of urine tested for pregnancy.
In case of doubt blood beta HCG test and USG will be of help.

4. If you are not pregnant, then your symptoms can be due to PMS - premenstrual syndrome. In that case, I will suggest you to opt for a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen. Start on long acting form of Vitamin B 6, vitamin E and evening primrose oil supplements on daily basis at least for next 3 months. .

I hope this answer helps you. Thanks.
