Is Decreasing Appetite Normal For Elderly After Suffering From Seizure?

Hi. My mother is 92 and had a seizure, went into the hospital, had an NG tube, now eats thickened pureed food, and is refusing to eat less and less food. Is this common for the elderly. She s also had small mini-strokes over the last ten years, possibly having had one about two or three months ago. Is it right to let her starve to death? What do you think?

yes , this is true that appetite decreases as the the age proceeds . younger baby drinks milk 6-8 times and adult need food according to their job . sedentary job holders require less calories than an active person. at the age of 92 she has not much physical activities to do so the number of calories required are very less. you may contact a nutritionist and get total calories calculated that she needs and provide that much only and I am sure a 92 years old lady do not need much calories but only few because digestive system also does not allow much food to digest. you may contact your local physician for any appetiser if needed.
