Is Delayed Menstrual Period A Sign Of Pregnancy?

me and ma gf had a sex on her 5th day of periods ...she got periods on 10th april and v had a intercourse on 15th april ..v had a safety sex with protection ...but while having sex ...a fluids was flowing as due to longer sex for 5 minutes coming dwn from condom to the lower part of ma penis and i had a doubt wether it didnt go inside the vergina so for more precausion i gave her a ipill immediately aftr 2hrs ..but as of now she didnt get her periods its her 40th day since 15th april ...confused ...is this the sign of pregnancy ??

Hi there, I have understood your concern. I will will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

First of all do not panic.

As per your history, you had sex activity on day 6 of the cycle. You might be aware that in a woman with regular cycles day 10 to 20 of the cycle is the most fertile period of cycle. so you had sex act episode even before that. So chances of getting pregnant are almost nil.

Also , she has taken the emergency contraceptive pill rightly.

In my opinion, she needs to get morning's first sample of urine tested for pregnancy. In case of doubt blood beta HCG test and USG be of help.

If she is not pregnant, she can induce her periods with a course of progesterone tablets. Her treating doctor can guide about the course and withdrawal bleeding of the same.

Even if she is pregnant, she can opt for termination of pregnancy with medicines safely till 9 weeks of pregnancy under medical supervision.
